Common questions
Why does SolveCapture ask for screen recording permission?
SolveCapture needs it to take screenshots and record your screen. Without it, it cannot see what is on the screen.
Why does SolveCapture ask for the microphone or camera?
Only when you turn the microphone or the camera on for a recording: the microphone to record your voice, the camera to add a camera overlay.
Where are my captures saved?
In a SolveCapture folder on your Desktop, unless you pick another folder in the settings. The library keeps its own copies and thumbnails on your Mac.
SolveCapture warns that a shortcut clashes. What do I do?
Two of your SolveCapture shortcuts use the same keys. Open SolveCapture’s Settings, choose Shortcuts, and give one of them different keys. The shortcuts SolveCapture starts with use Control and Command, so they stay clear of the Mac’s own screenshot keys.
How do I tell you about a problem?
Write to kavita@solverise.co with what you did, what you expected and what happened instead, and the versions of SolveCapture and macOS. SolveCapture never sends anything itself.
Which Macs does SolveCapture run on?
Macs with Apple silicon or Intel, running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Purchases and refunds
SolveCapture is sold through the Mac App Store, so Apple handles payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page.
